![]() In this completely off the wall comedy, MARTIANS FROM VENUS is a prime example of just what can happen when an ambitious project, with an impressive film budget can turn into a catastrophic disaster of gargantuan proportions when the initial studio backing pulls out leaving the filmmakers to resort to raising the needed capital for the picture through mob money. Almost immediately the mob-backed production gets its capital backing lost, and the two inept filmmakers have to resort to some cost cutting methods to recreate an incredible script, with a cast of thousands, amazing scenes, more amazing monsters, creatures, and effects to be reduced to a cast of 4 and a shooting budget of just a couple of thousand bucks. All the while knowing, if they don't pull it off, and return the borrowed mob money, they may find themselves at the bottom of Lake Erie. Compiled onto this, the hit show of Cleveland, CLEVELAND EXPOSED has gone undercover to film the filmmakers unawares during their ongoing fiasco of a project. So the first half of the film is really about the making of the film, and the last half of the film is the movie itself and just what can go wrong when all hell breaks loose, and a 120 million dollar epic picture gets reduced to six thousand four hundred ninety three dollars....oh yes, I almost forgot... ...AND eighty five cents. |
